Dixon’s roots stretch back to the 1890’s where T.H. Dixon & Company Ltd was originally founded in the East End of London by Thomas Henry Dixon to serve the growing photographic industry.

Initially, Dixon manufactured coating, slitting and cutting machines solely for the photographic industry but soon extended this capability into flexible web machinery of all types. These systems have been applied to an extensive range of products including abrasives, adhesives medical products, flooring and copper foil.

Manual, semi or fully automatic unwind or rewindsystems are available and can be supplied asmultiple or separate units. They are suitable formany types of papers, thinboard, films and foils.

Treater lines

Dixon has over 25 years experience within the copper foil industry and offers tailor madesystems to meet specific space requirements.Copper or aluminium from 15-150 micron can beprocessed, alternatively the system can beoptimised for the treating of filmic products insteadof copper.Specialised materials are specified for theconstruction of components to be used in thecorrosive treating environment together withappropriate wash systems to complement theparticular treating section.

High speed test coater

The Helicoater 2000 from Dixon incorporates the very latest technology in the field of high speed test coaters for the paper and associated industries. It is computer controlled and designed for ease of operation by one person requiring minimal floor space and headroom, the Helicoater 2000 provides ease of access for cleandown and maintenance.

The modular coating heads typically offer reverse roll, all types of gravure applications, slot die, Meyer bar, air knife, knife spreading and laminating. Dixon works with cutomers to create new products and coating techniques.
